Introduction to "Paine Harbor"

Hello friends: My plan is to post a sample chapter or two per week here for your reading enjoyment. Before I give you a feel for what this new book is about, I have a few requests to make:

 1. I'm looking for feedback. Not just "I love it..." but helpful practical insights. Such as...
  - Characters - who do you like? why? are they believable? Are they consistent? what do you like about them? hate? etc.
  - Storyline - what do you think? do you want to read more? less? is it believable? compelling? would you want to share it with someone else? can you relate to it?
  - Message - is there one? what is it? why would you want to read this? or why wouldn't you want to? is the message valid?
  - Emotions - does the story touch your heart? mind? why? how? what about it is poignant?
 2. Please share this across social media.
 3. Please be honest with me.
 Thanks!
 Doug
NOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT 'PAINE HARBOR'
-PAINE HARBOR is a story about hope, change and better lives. Each character in the book, like those in real life, has issues. Some worse than others. But each has encounters that dramatically begin a process of genuine change in their lives. Some of the characters experience rapid life-altering changes, and others are slower.
-PAINE HARBOR shakes up the status quo in favor of "what if?"
-PAINE HARBOR accepts its person right where they are and challenges them to reassess everything in order to experience genuine life, faith and joy.
